In a significant development for European cybersecurity, Decent Cybersecurity has been selected as one of five winners in the prestigious PQ-REACT Open Call #1, marking a crucial step forward in the advancement of post-quantum cryptographic solutions. The company’s CRISP-Q project (Cryptographic Resilience Implementation for Secure Post-Quantum Systems) was chosen for its innovative approach to implementing quantum-resistant security measures in critical infrastructure environments.
“This selection validates our commitment to developing practical, forward-looking cybersecurity solutions,” says Matej Michalko, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Decent Cybersecurity. “As quantum computing advances, the need for quantum-resistant cryptography becomes increasingly crucial for protecting sensitive data and infrastructure. CRISP-Q is not just about theoretical security – it’s about providing practical, implementable solutions that organizations can rely on.”
Addressing Tomorrow’s Threats Today
The quantum computing revolution presents both opportunities and significant security challenges. As quantum computers grow more powerful, they threaten to break many current encryption methods, particularly those based on factoring large numbers or solving discrete logarithm problems. CRISP-Q addresses this challenge through a comprehensive framework that implements FIPS 203-compliant post-quantum cryptography across diverse IT/OT environments.
The project’s scope encompasses:
- Performance-optimized protocols for efficient implementation
- Automated migration tools for seamless transition
- Real-world validation in resource-constrained settings
- Comprehensive benchmarking suites
- Integrated security audit capabilities
- Educational components for widespread adoption
- European Innovation Collaboration
The PQ-REACT initiative has brought together leading organizations across Europe, each contributing unique expertise to the quantum security challenge:
8BELLS (Greece) is developing the Quantum-Agile 5G Core project, enhancing 5G Service-Based Architecture security through libOQS integration
CREAPLUS d.o.o. (Slovenia) focuses on optimizing PQC algorithms for firmware signing
Tecnalia (Spain) leads the QUIET project for lattice-based cryptosystem security analysis
Vicomtech (Spain) implements Q-PROTECT for 5G quantum security transition
Implementation Strategy
“The transition to quantum-resistant cryptography is not just about implementing new algorithms,” explains Michaela Abel, Founder and COO of Decent Cybersecurity. “It’s about creating a sustainable, scalable approach that organizations can rely on for years to come. CRISP-Q is designed to make this transition as smooth and efficient as possible.”
The implementation strategy focuses on minimizing disruption while maximizing security benefits. Organizations can gradually transition their systems to quantum-resistant algorithms without compromising existing security measures, following detailed migration pathways developed by the CRISP-Q team.
