What Kyber2025 Taught Us About the Future of Slovak Cybersecurity

The world of digital security is always moving. Therefore, staying ahead is not just an option; it is a necessity. This is why Decent Cybersecurity is committed to participating in key industry events. We recently had the opportunity to attend the “Kyber2025: AI and the Future of Cybersecurity” conference. This important NIS2 event took place on November 3-4, 2025, at the Hotel Atrium in the High Tatras, organized by the National Security Authority (NBÚ). We were represented by our Senior IT Consultant, Pavol Krcho, PhD. This gathering was a vital opportunity to discuss the future of Slovak cybersecurity.

The conference began with an opening by Roman Konečný, the Director of the NBÚ. His introduction set a professional tone for the following two days. Subsequently, the focus shifted to practical matters. Jaroslav Ďurovka, Director of the National Cyber Security Centre SK-CERT (NCKB), and Marek Vlášek, Director of the NBÚ’s inspection and supervision department, presented crucial updates. They detailed the current state of cybersecurity in Slovakia. Furthermore, they explained the new decrees that will shape our industry. These sessions provided clear guidance on the evolving regulatory landscape.

Navigating AI and Legal Challenges

The discussions at Kyber2025 went far beyond standard regulations. Martin Klus, founder of the SCIO agency, shared fascinating results from a representative survey.

Following this, Milan Pikula, Director of SK-CERT, tackled the urgent topic of AI security, evaluating immediate threats and opportunities. Additionally, the event addressed a major concern for industry leaders. Prof. Jozef Čentéš, a respected legal expert from Comenius University, delivered a critical presentation on the criminal liability of cybersecurity managers.

Events like Kyber2025 are not just about presentations; they are also about people. The conference was expertly moderated by Matej Šalmík, who kept the atmosphere engaging. Between sessions, our colleague Pavol Krcho was actively involved in conversations. He discussed the current state of cybersecurity with key figures like Milan Pikula (SK-CERT) and Matej Šalmík.

These informal discussions are often where practical insights are shared. We also thank Ivana Šandorová from the Cyber Security Competence and Certification Centre, who ensured everyone was well-informed about the latest news from the world of cybersecurity.
